About Debi Peverill
Debi Peverill is a unique individual—a chartered professional accountant with a sense of humour!
Debi enjoys helping business owners and managers avoid making financial mistakes, and protecting them from the government and banks.
An entrepreneur with authority issues, Debi has founded three businesses. Her public accounting firm, Peverill & Associates, provides tax preparation and tax planning for individuals, unincorporated businesses, and corporations. The firm specializes in serving owner-managed businesses.
In 1998, Debi founded SBR Communications Inc., the vehicle for her speaking, consulting, and training activities. An accomplished trainer, Debi teaches financial management courses in the Executive and Professional Development program, the Diploma in Management program, and the Executive Masters of Business Administration program at Saint Mary’s University. Debi also provides seminars for individuals who are starting their own businesses, through a number of different delivery agents. An engaging speaker, Debi enjoys sharing her wisdom and insights to audiences of business owners and managers.
In 2013, Painless Financial Training Group Inc. was created to offer people financial information they need to know to stay out of trouble and make more money. Around the same time, Debi added training for board directors, especially of nonprofits. She has seen first-hand how volunteers can be punished for something bad happening when they thought they were doing good. In her mission to protect new board members who don’t know what they don’t know, Debi shares her wisdom and experience under the brand “Basic Board Governance”. Her books on finance and board governance are easy to read and to the point. They are full of practical tips readers can implement right away.
More about Debi
Debi is a triathlete who has completed two Iron Distance triathlons and several marathons. In 2008, she represented Canada in her age group at the Foster Grant 70.3 Ironman World Championships.
She resides in Lower Sackville with her long-suffering husband.
